Legends of Ventura FC

Many great players have worn the famous Ventura FC shirt over the years. Here are just a few of the Ventura Legends:

Name: John Inglis

Position: Striker
Nationality: English
Awards: Top goalscorer 3rd division, 2nd division (28goals)
Nickname: Jingy, Johnny Ring-piece, Jean-Paul

Profile:
One of the most prolific goalscorers in the history of Ventura FC, John Inglis graduated into senior football after playing for Trinity U-16s. With the ability of accelerate past defenders & score impossible goals, John's style of play often bordered on arrogant. He was also Ventura FC's top goalscorer the last time they played in the Southport 3rd division. John currently resides in London following a move South where he is now known as 'Jean-Paul.'

Name: Paul Trecharichi
D.O.B: 1979
Position: Striker
Nationality: English
Awards:
Nickname: Tricky

Profile:
A talented striker with pace, a good first touch & an eye for goal. Paul has formed good partnerships with the other Ventura strikers he has played alongside. Extra talents include frequently arguing with former Ventura defender Gaz Roberts.

Name: Johnny Wright

D.O.B:  000B.C.
Position: Defender
Nationality: English
Awards:
Nickname: J.P.

Profile:
Before succumbing to a persistent knee injury, Johnny Wright was one the most solid & difficult left-backs in Ventura's history. At his best he was solid in the air & covered ground quickly, forcing opponents into relinquishing possession with some brave tough tackling.

Name: Neil Soden

D.O.B:  1980
Position: Defender
Nationality: English
Awards:
Nickname: Jew, Rabbi
Career Goals: 5

Profile:
Neil Soden, aka 'the jew' had probably one of the most powerful left foots the Ventura team has seen over the years. Deployed at left-back, Soden was an effective full back who was also solid in the tackle, perhaps a bit too much as this led to a triple break of his leg which sidelined him for a long period afterwards. He did briefly make a comeback but retired on medical advice from Mrs Soden.

Name: Dan Convey

D.O.B:  1979
Position: Defender
Nationality: English
Awards:
Nickname: Daggers, Spanker

Profile:
Dan was again one of the old Ventura full backs from yester-year. A handsome looking chap who played with plenty of aggression & was tough in the tackle. Rumour has it that he used to sharpen his elbows before every game.

Name: Andy Uttley

D.O.B:  25/12/2001
Position: Midfielder
Nationality: English
Awards:
Nickname: Sonic, Muttley

Profile:
One of Ventura FC's most rapid players with a penchant for collecting golden rings & chaos emeralds. Andy Uttley will at some point feature against his old team-mates this season. Its sure to be an emotional occasion as Uttley will come face-to-face with his elder brother & current Ventura goalkeeper Paul. Along with Usain Bolt-like pace, Andy also has many a trick up his sleeve & is fully capable of scoring goals. His game would probably benefit however were it not for his party lifestyle. Forget Gazza, Sonic knows how to party.....and drink.
